HIV-1 new infection detection reagent

Product overview

This reagent employs the restriction antigen affinity enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (LAg-AvidityEIA). By detecting the affinity level of anti-HIV-1 restriction antigen lgG antibodies in serum/plasma, it distinguishes new HIV-1 infections from previous infections at the population level and is used to calculate the new infection rate in specific populations. Compared with the traditional BED method, the LAg-Avidity method is less affected by the immune status of the infected person and the virus subtype, has higher specificity, is simple to operate, and is applicable to multiple subtypes of HIV-1. At present, worldwide, the detection of new HIV-1 infections has gradually replaced the BED method with the LAg-Avidity method.

Detailed introduction

Monitoring Significance

The monitoring of new HIV infection rates provides a scientific basis for the early detection of high-risk groups for HIV transmission, timely grasp of the epidemic trend of the disease, rational allocation of limited prevention and control resources, and evaluation of the effectiveness of intervention measures.

Application Scenarios

The scientific basis for the allocation of AIDS prevention and control resources

Estimation of new infection rates through sentinel surveillance and cross-sectional surveys

Epidemiological assessment of the effectiveness of intervention measures
